Amazon Product Strategy > Costs > Source

  1. Manual
  • Logic: No automation. The cost value is entered and maintained manually by the user.

  • Use Case: One-off costs or costs that don't have a reliable data source in the system.

  1. Supplier-Sync
  • Logic: Automatically fetches the price from the Supplier Item Price and Stock DocType.

  • Behavior: It finds the item linked to the Proxy SKU and retrieves the price from the

supplier record with the best (lowest) rank, ensuring the supplier is not "blocked"

    and has stock available.

  • Use Case: When you want your pricing strategy to dynamically adjust based on the

current best available market price from your suppliers.

  1. PO-Sync
  • Logic: Fetches the rate from the most recent submitted Purchase Order.

  • Behavior: It looks for the latest Purchase Order Item for the associated item.

  • Use Case: When you want to use your actual "last purchase price" as the basis for your

    cost calculations.

  1. Auto-Sync
  • Logic: Pulls the Default Value defined in the Cost Sub Type master record.

  • Behavior: It maps the cost to a global standard. If you update the default value in

the "Cost Sub Type" record, all strategies using "Auto-Sync" for that sub-type will

    update accordingly.

  • Use Case: Standardized fixed costs like specific packaging types, standard handling

    fees, or fixed overheads.

  1. FBA-Transfer
  • Logic: Fetches the Last Transfer Rate from the Proxy SKU record.

  • Behavior: This rate is typically updated when stock is transferred to Amazon FBA. It

represents the specific landed cost assigned to that SKU during the FBA replenishment

    process.

  • Use Case: Used for FBA-specific strategies where the cost of getting the item into

Amazon's warehouse is the primary cost driver.
