Sponsorship Tiers & Decks
Sponsorship Tiers & Decks
This page is for organizers. It covers how to set up the sponsorship packages sponsors can buy (Sponsorship Tiers), how to attach a pitch deck to your event, and how to have Buzz email that deck automatically the moment someone submits a sponsorship enquiry.
If you want to know what a sponsor sees and how an enquiry becomes a paid
Event Sponsor, read Sponsor an Event.
Sponsorship Tiers
A Sponsorship Tier is one purchasable sponsorship package for a single event (for example Gold, Silver, Community Partner). Sponsors pick a tier when their enquiry is approved, and the tier's price drives the payment link.
When you create a Buzz Event, Buzz automatically creates one starter tier titled Normal for that event. Edit it or add more tiers as needed.
Create or edit a tier
Open Sponsorship Tier in Desk (or use the + quick-entry) and fill in:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Title | The package name shown to sponsors (e.g. Gold). Required. |
| Event | The Buzz Event this tier belongs to. Required — tiers are per-event. |
| Price | The sponsorship amount. Cannot be negative. Used to generate the payment link after approval. |
| Currency | Defaults to INR. The price is shown and charged in this currency. |
Create as many tiers as you offer. Each one appears as a choice when an Event Manager approves a sponsorship enquiry for that event.
Tiers are scoped to a single event. If you run several events, create the tiers separately under each one (templates can speed this up — see Event Templates).
The pitch deck
The pitch deck is the set of files you send to prospective sponsors — typically a PDF prospectus, rate card, or slide deck. In Buzz the deck lives on the Buzz Event, not on a tier, so one deck covers all of that event's tiers.
Attach deck files to your event
- Open your Buzz Event in Desk.
- Go to the Sponsorships tab.
- In Attachments, add a row per file and upload it. Each row is a Sponsorship Deck Item and holds a single attached file (required).
Add as many files as you like — every attached file is sent together when the deck goes out.
Auto-send the pitch deck
Buzz can email the deck automatically as soon as a sponsorship enquiry is submitted, so prospects get your prospectus instantly without anyone on your team lifting a finger.
How it actually works
When a Sponsorship Enquiry is created, Buzz runs send_pitch_deck and:
- Checks the toggles. It sends only if either the event's Auto Send Pitch Deck? check or the global Auto Send Pitch Deck check in Buzz Settings is on. On a new event the event-level toggle defaults to on; the global default is off. (So out of the box, each event sends its own deck.)
- Picks the email template. It uses the event's Email Template if set, otherwise the Default Email Template from Buzz Settings. If neither is set, nothing is sent and the miss is logged.
- Sends the email to the person who submitted the enquiry, with every file in the event's Attachments table attached. CC and Reply To also come from the event first, falling back to the Buzz Settings defaults.
Sending is wrapped in error handling, so a misconfiguration (e.g. a missing template) is logged but never blocks the enquiry from being saved.
Configure it per event
On the Buzz Event Sponsorships tab:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Auto Send Pitch Deck? | Turn auto-send on/off for this event. Defaults to on. |
| Email Template | The email used for this event's deck. Overrides the global default. |
| CC | Addresses to copy on the deck email. Overrides the global default. |
| Reply To | Reply-to address for the deck email. Overrides the global default. |
| Attachments | The deck files sent with the email. |
Configure global defaults
In Buzz Settings → Sponsorships you set the fallbacks used by any event that doesn't override them:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Auto Send Pitch Deck | A global on switch. If on, decks send even for events whose own toggle is off. Defaults to off. |
| Default Email Template | Template used when an event has no template of its own. |
| Default Reply To | Reply-to used when an event sets none. |
| Default CC | CC used when an event sets none. |
The deck files always come from the event's Attachments table — there is no global deck. Buzz Settings only supplies the template, CC, and reply-to fallbacks plus the global on switch.
Quick checklist
- Create your Sponsorship Tiers (title, price, currency) under the event.
- Upload your deck files to the event's Sponsorships → Attachments.
- Create an Email Template for the deck email.
- Set the template on the event (or as the global default), and confirm Auto Send Pitch Deck? is on.
- Submit a test enquiry to confirm the deck arrives.
